Student of the Month:
Every teacher will nominate two students of the month. Students and their parents will be invited to attend a recognition ceremony in the Forum on March 7th, April 11th, and May 9th.
We will take photos and display them (along with the teachers’ blurbs about student’s excellence) on our bulletin board, located near the Student Office Window.
7th Grade STAR Writing Test
7th grade students will be taking the California Standards Writing Test on Tuesday, March 5th. Make-ups will be given on Wednesday, March 6th.
To prepare for this test we suggest:
Ensure your child has a good night of sleep to reduce pre-test anxieties.
Make sure they have a good breakfast on the day of the test.
Ensure your child arrives to school on time. Arriving late can make your child feel nervous or stressed before taking the test.
Encourage your child to apply all the writing skills he or she has learned.
We look forward to seeing all of our 7th grade students next Tuesday!
We will have three important meetings on February 21st at our school. At 9:00-10:00am, we will host Title I Coffee with the Principal in our Staff Lounge (upstairs). On Friday, February 8th, we will have our Second Quarter Awards Assembly. We will recognize Honor Roll (3.0-3.699), Principal's Honor Roll (3.7 to 3.99), 4.0 GPA Hawk Award, and Perfect Attendance. Approximately 50% of our students are on Honor Roll or greater and ~20% of our students have perfect attendance.
