Join us for the Cesar Chavez Middle School Washington D.C./New York Fundraising Event, which will take place all day on Friday, March 15th at Mountain Mike Pizzeria at 32170 Dyer St. Union City, CA. The generous proprietor of Mountain Mike’s Pizzeria has graciously offered to donate 20% of all food sales from the evening to help pay for the students’ trip. Charity has never tasted so good! I am so happy to be your new media specialist. Middle school is my first love, it feels good to be back. I taught 7th grade core for 10 years at AMS before going to elementary to teach 4th and 5th, then became the media specialist at AES. I think I've found my home here!

Dear Parents and Students,

As your child matures, it is important to notice their level of respect. Learning to show adults respect does not mean giving up one’s individuality or ideas. Showing respect to adults inspires adults to return the favor and treat every student as mature person. Respecting adults is one of the important steps in developing a positive attitude that will help each student succeed in the future. I ask all students to show respect at school and refrain from using bad language. I want our school to be a place of high academic standards, achievement, and respect for all.

As you noticed, we do have a constant trash problem. I am asking all students to take part in the beautification of our school by throwing away their trash. I am also asking all students to pick up trash to help keep our campus clean. If you notice someone littering, please ask them to pick up their trash. The Parent Project, providing support, tools and strategies to help parents deal with the challenges of rearing teenagers, will begin a new session on Tuesday nights starting Feb. 26.

The 13-week program for parents of children 10 and older, sponsored by Union City Youth & Family Services, will be held from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. Registration is $35, plus a weekly class fee.
