Yearbook sales now online as well as in room D2

We have opened up our yearbook sales to include online sales. Please visit the website below and follow the instructions posted here:

Once there, enter in your yearbook ID (11878814). Then enter in your child's name and grade and then select that you would like a year book and you can add it to your cart. Next you will enter in your payment info and then you can submit their order. Once you've submitted your order, you will receive an email confirmation for your records.

Oakland A’s Step Up to the Plate for Education with Cesar Chavez Middle School!

Cesar Chavez Middle School is excited to participate in the Oakland A’s Step Up to the Plate for Education program for the 2014 season! Students, parents, and their friends and families have the opportunity to purchase special fundraising tickets for select A’s games. A portion of each ticket will go directly back to the school. Tickets for the select games are limited – to participate in this special offer, we recommend purchasing tickets ASAP to reserve the best seats. Our school has selected April 19 as Cesar Chavez Day at the A’s. In addition to this game, there are 5 other games to choose from including giveaway days, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, and even a game vs. the Red Sox.

GOLDEN SNEAKER CONTEST!

Lace up those shoes, dust off those bikes, or get ready to share your ride! The Safe Routes to Schools Pollution Solution 2014: Golden Sneaker Contest is coming to your school!

For 2 weeks March 10-21, participating classrooms will be tracking and talking about the benefits of using active transportation – walking and rolling (biking, skateboarding or using a scooter) or shared transportation (riding the school bus, using public transportation and/or carpooling with other families) - to come and go from school. The classroom with the highest percentage of these healthy travel choices will win the Golden Sneaker Trophy and celebration.

The Golden Sneaker contest offers a chance for every student to participate. If you live too far from school to walk or roll you can always:

Park a few blocks away and walk
Meet up with friends who live close to school and walk as a group

Minimum Day: Parent Teacher Conferences

Thursday January 30th and Friday the 31st will be minimum days to allow teachers and parents to hold Parent Teacher Conferences.

Chromebook Rollout Make-up Night

Students enrolled in a Chrome class who have not picked up their Chromebook should do so THIS WEDNESDAY, January 15th at 5:30. Students must bring their ID, and a parent to this event in the Forum.

Chromebook and RTTT-D

Chromebooks have begun to rollout to one third of our classes. Select teachers and students who are participating in the Year 1 rollout have the opportunity to pick up their Chromebook at one of two Rollout Nights; December 17th for students with last names A-L, and December 18th for students M-Z. Those students and parents who are not able to come in December, will be able to attend a make-up session on Thursday, January 9th. Students involved this year must have been given an informational packet from their Chromebook Teacher to receive the device.
